The North Ari Atoll holds some of the Maldives’ most storied dive sites: thilas thick with grey reef sharks, channels where mantas pass through on the current, a wreck slowly becoming its own reef. Most are within the hour by boat, run through Noovilu’s small dive team on the island’s own dhoni. Whether you’re taking your first breaths underwater or chasing your next certification, this is diving built around your pace, not a schedule.
For new divers, the water around our house reef is gentle enough to learn in, and rich enough to make it worth the effort. Turtles are near-constant company from your first dive, unbothered by bubbles and slow enough to swim alongside, while anemones and reef fish crowd every ledge. Reef sharks keep their distance, and the coral does the rest, drawing in colour and movement before you’ve found your buoyancy.
Venture into the atoll and the encounters scale up. Maaya Thila and Fish Head draw big schools of fusiliers, batfish and trevally, with nudibranchs and frogfish rewarding a closer look. From November to April, Moofushi Manta Point keeps a standing appointment, rays circling its cleaning station on schedule.

However you like to dive, there’s a way to do it here. Noovilu keeps the schedule flexible, whether you want a steady daily rhythm, something built around a specific sighting, or the whole boat kept just for you and yours.
